CF8M Stainless Steel Valve Body & Instrument Housing Precision Casting
When your process demands absolute integrity — in pressure containment, corrosion resistance, and dimensional accuracy — our CF8M stainless steel valve body and instrument housing castings deliver. Manufactured using the lost-wax investment casting process, these components provide the complex internal geometries, pressure-tight walls, and superior surface quality required for critical fluid control and instrumentation applications across chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, and marine industries.
Material Properties
- Grade: CF8M (cast equivalent of AISI 316 / 1.4408)
- Tensile Strength: ≥485 MPa
- Yield Strength: ≥170 MPa
- Hardness: ≤217 HB
- Molybdenum Content: 2–3% — superior resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion
- Corrosion Resistance: Excellent in acids, alkalis, seawater, and aggressive process chemicals
- Temperature Range: Cryogenic to 870°C continuous service
- Pressure Rating: Suitable for high-pressure applications; custom wall thickness and pressure class available
Casting Process & Quality
- Process: Lost-wax investment casting for complex internal passages and precise port geometry
- Dimensional Tolerance: CT6 per ISO 8062
- Surface Roughness: Ra 3.2–6.3 μm as-cast; Ra 1.6 μm or better with post-machining
- Pressure testing: Hydrostatic pressure testing available per ASME / EN standards
- NDT options: Dye penetrant testing (PT), radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT) available
- Post-processing: CNC machining of seating faces, flanges, and threaded ports; passivation; electropolishing
- Standards compliance: Castings can be produced to ASTM A351 CF8M, EN 10213, or equivalent standards upon request
Key Features
- Pressure-tight integrity: Dense, void-free castings ensure leak-free performance in high-pressure fluid systems
- Complex geometry capability: Internal flow passages, bosses, flanges, and port configurations cast in a single piece
- Superior corrosion resistance: CF8M’s molybdenum content provides outstanding protection in chloride-rich and chemically aggressive media
- Precision seating surfaces: Machined valve seats and sealing faces ensure reliable shut-off and minimal leakage
- Versatile end connections: Flanged, threaded (NPT/BSP), socket weld, or butt weld configurations available
- Custom specifications: Pressure class, port size, face-to-face dimension, and connection type per your drawings or international standards
Applications
- Gate, globe, ball, and butterfly valve bodies
- Flow meter and pressure transmitter housings
- Chemical injection and dosing valve bodies
- Subsea and offshore valve assemblies
- Pharmaceutical and biotech process valves
- Cryogenic valve bodies (LNG, liquid nitrogen systems)
- Marine seawater service valves
- Oil and gas wellhead and pipeline valves
Custom Order Process
- Submit your drawing (STEP, DXF, DWG, PDF) or sample, including pressure class and connection standard
- Receive detailed quotation within 24–48 hours
- Prototype and pressure test approval before mass production
- Lead time: typically 35 days depending on complexity, testing requirements, and quantity
